I see we’ve entered another Middle Eastern war without being attacked. Netanyahu seriously overplayed his hand attacking Iran but he probably figured Trump would ride in to his rescue. And he did.

I was worried because the smart money was on “stay out of things” so I pretty well figured Trump would do the opposite and he did.

Then I went looking for what he was saying about how this war would be handled but then I realized nothing he says has anything to do with what he does. So it’s fruitless to expect anything sensible about his “plans.”
Let’s look at a few of his claims:

  • He’ll keep us out of foreign wars

Well I think we know how that played out.

  • We’ll build a wall and Mexico will pay for it

We know how that played out too.

  • We’ll deport the undocumented criminals

We’re deporting all undocumented, including the hard working family folks who hold our economy together.

  • Prices will go down on day one

We also know how that played out. Instead no prices changes, within a few weeks we had an epic stock market crash, but we keep getting reports of MAGA saying prices are down when they’re not. I was expecting MAGA to put out a report that the Ukraine war was over.

  • He’ll end the Ukraine war on day one

It’s not over (see above)

  • Windmills cause cancer

Huh?!?!

  • He’ll bring manufacturing back to the US

He’s imposed heavy tariffs which are really just regressive taxes that we’ll all pay. Even best case manufacturing comes back in a few years, companies will need to automate heavily to approach current prices. So not many new jobs. Plus surveys show folks want manufacturing to come back but don’t want to take factory jobs. Pesky reality stuff though.
