The Trump campaign can’t seem to get very specific about how they’ll get tough on illegals, but they frequently say they’ll be dealt with “humanely.”

Almost all definitions of the word “humane” involve animals.  So isn’t saying you’ll treat undocumented folks “humanely” pretty close to calling them animals?  Doing a web search for “humane” turns up mostly references to branches of the humane society.  And if you switch to images you get puppies and kittens.

Maybe I’m nitpicking, but to me, you treat animals humanely, you treat humans with compassion.
