Pascal’s famous wager was that you should believe in God because if there turned out to not be a god you weren’t out much, but if there were a God and you chose not to believe, welp, lots of bad consequences.

Applying that to the climate change debate we’d arrive at a decision of “might as well treat climate change as real even if we personally have doubts” because if the climate change folks are right and we’ve bet wrong it’ll be kinda a mess.

Whereas if we clean things up, help the planet as a whole, and become national leaders in sustainable energy, not a huge amount of downside there.
