I like low sugar cereals. They’re almost impossible to find. I don’t think there’s been a single low sugar cereal introduced in the last 4 decades. The only ones are the ones that were around in 1965: Cheerios, Wheaties, Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies, Grape Nuts, and Shredded Wheat (the original, not the frosted minis).
The cereal companies all like to pretend they’re introducing healthy new cereals using phrases like “sweetened with a touch of honey.” This just means that the sweetener is the second thing on the list of ingredients instead of the first.
Cereals these days tend to be basically crumbled candy bars that you pour milk on. C’mon, cereal companies, give us something new to have for breakfast that was created this century. Is it that hard?
