I recently got a political email along the lines of:
“Do you support Sharia Law in the US?”
yes [ ] no [ ] unsure [ ]
This is like that old question to a politician, “Did you stop beating your wife?” If you’re forced into a yes/no answer, there’s no answer that conveys the truth.
This has nothing to do with the tendency for politicians to completely ignore the question and just go off vamping on whatever they’re interested in.
Anyhow, back to the email: I wanted to respond “I don’t support any religion’s law becoming (or even influencing) the law of the land.”
Now to be fair at least the politician who sent the email didn’t include a picture of a scary looking Middle Eastern man, I’ll give him credit for that.
